What a great day at Dayspring Church of the Nazarene yesterday. I want to think everyone who helped prepare the meal. For those who missed it yesterday, we had our first bi-weekly potluck/second service. What that means is every other week after our Sunday morning service, we have a meal together and then we have a second service directly after the meal (12:30 pm) which is based on some type of video series. As a church family we were looking for a way to spend more time in fellowship together and also make a Sunday evening service more convenient for everyone.
Yesterday we started with Ken Davis’ Fully Alive video (trailer below) which is an extremely funny comedy show with a great message. We will watch the second half of the video on March 2nd and then embark on a 4 session group study on “Fully Alive”. Please join us!
In spite of the weather, Jennifer and I have decided to go ahead and have the Christmas get together anyway for anyone who can make it. Please don’t risk the drive if you feel its not safe! 6-8 pm tonight at the parsonage, please bring a side dish or dessert if you can 🙂
Be sure to join us on Christmas Eve, December 24th at 6pm for our Christmas Eve service. This 1 hour service will be a great opportunity for the entire family to focus on the “Reason for the Season”. We look forward to seeing you!
Last week we started our four week sermon series on the Book of Jude. Last weeks Sermon called “Contender or Pretender” over the first four verses of Jude focused on Jude’s passionate plea for Christians to “protect the faith” from apostasy and false teachings.
This week’s sermon will continue on from where we left off last week as we do an exploration of sin, wrath, and God’s incredible grace. Be sure to be with us Sunday at 10:30am as we come to hear what God has to say to us through the important Epistle of Jude.
When God called me into ministry almost 5 years ago, never did I imagine that He would call me into the role of Senior Pastor at Dayspring. I’m honored that God called me but I also understand that everything we do as a church and congregation is in His strength and not ours. So as we as a church family embark on this next chapter at Dayspring, I want to say thank you to everyone for your love and support and I’m extremely excited to see where God takes us!
